My work as a tattoo artist involves pre-drawing ready-to-use designs known as flash, then grouping them together for display on flash sheets. This practice has evolved into creating a main image flanked by smaller, thematically-linked, supporting pieces.
My latest prints illustrate the settings and stories defining each of the characters in my play "The Best Restaurant in the World. Ever." currently being staged by Curious Cats Theatre Collective.
The background image sets the scene, while the smaller images represent that character’s hopes and challenges. I’ve also woven in references to Vancouver, the play’s history, and my personal travels with these works.
